Graston

Graston Technique® (GT) is an innovative and patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions.

This non-invasive technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation. Originally developed by athletes, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) techniques like Graston are used by more than 25,000 clinicians worldwide.

GT is utilized at some 3,042 outpatient facilities and 86 industrial sites, by more than 431 professional and amateur sports organizations, and is part of the curriculum at more than 45 respected colleges and universities. IASTM techniques enable clinicians to get as deep into the tissue as necessary to invoke change, yet be sensitive to patient pain and tolerance. As the instruments are moved over the affected area and come in contact with the adhesions, they help break up scar tissue and fascial restrictions. In time, this process will reduce or eliminate the adhered fibers, restoring range of motion and eliminating the associated pain.

Benefits to patients

  • Decreases overall time of treatment
  • Fosters faster rehabilitation/recovery
  • Reduces need for anti-inflammatory medication
  • Resolves chronic conditions thought to be permanent

GT will help transform your injured soft tissue injury into healthy functioning tissue allowing you to enjoy life again.
